D'OH
Well it's Thursday and I'm finally getting to my Blog for the first time this week. How crazy is that? It's been a busy week!
This past weekend was amazing! We went camping up in Algonquin Park with Matt and Tanya and her brothers and their girlfriends from Ottawa, it was BEAUTIFUL! Scott and I couldn't leave until about 6 because I had to work until 5 Friday but I had Monday off which was great. So we stopped in Brampton quickly to see Mom and Dad and then hit the park just after dusk. Anyone who knows Algonquin knows it's the WORSE time to be hitting that park. So needless to say I almost hit TWO moose. I was pretty shaken knowing that if it hadn't been for no one coming the other way and being able to swirve into the on coming lane I would have hit them and we would have been toast. Can you imagine my little Hyundia Accent hitting not one but two moose? They we're full grown BUT they were still taller then my car.
We got rain every night we were there, which was great cause it made it perfect for sleeping. The rain didn't start until about 4am so we were all in bed by then. The temp. were crazy! But it was great having a lake RIGHT there. We spent the enitre day Sunday in the water, canoing and cliff diving, we did some hiking and swimming. The weekend was great, certainly eventful. Friday night we had some crazy guy visit us at the first night - loaded who Angie (Jamie's girlfriend) nicknamed "Johnny go Rape everyone" long story short he had a problem with following girls to the bathroom. That night we also had the "crazy shoe lady" visit us a couple times. Matt who is normally very very mellow, started to get upset so although I was sleeping, I decided it was probably best to step out of the tent and say something.
The second night we had the "park warden" as he called himself visit us. We were laughing to loud and he wasn't liking it, it was after all a SATURDAY night in the middle of no where and there was no need to be having a good time. Jamie literally got caught with his pants down and the guys were reminded of the "Comfort Stations" and to use them.
Our last night we watched a storm approach- sheet lightning from the distance and it was truely awesome. I've never seen such an amazing sight, stars everywhere and the sky lighting up every few seconds. The storm didn't hit us we got a little rain and that was all but we did have a visitor of the furry kind. Not sure what it was exactly cause I was not stupid enough to go looking but there was definitly something out there.
The drive home wasn't as intense, much more enjoyable. Scott and I took a different route because I wanted to stop and see my Big Bro Tim at the camp he's running for the summer. Jackson's Point- and for anyone who cares this is Jim Carrey's home town. Anyway it's along Lake Simcoe so we got drive along the lake front and it was so beautiful. We stopped for about an hour and took a swim and visited with Tim. It's was about half way so it was a great stopping point. I've decided that I definitly want to take that trip again before summer is over, the beach was amazing.
We didn't hit traffic in TO which was nice. I thought for sure we would but we just missed it. Thank god! For any of you who don't know. I DON'T have A/C in my car. Yeah great huh? 2005 BRAND NEW car, and I don't have A/C. THANKS SCOTT!!!! I guess I can't complain I do have a brand new car that really is mine even though it's Scott's, and he did buy it before we were dating so whatever. But with the tempatures this past week....AHHHHHHHH!!!! I should be driving his SUV with the power everything and A/C.
So after we got home Monday we had a terrible storm Monday night and one of our trees in the back yard is now split in half hanging over our neighbours garage. It's costing us $1000 to get it removed now. Our house insurance will cover 1/2 which is nice. I am SOOOOOO thankful my Dad nailed into me how important it was to have insurance. When we bought the house I made Scott get the insurance even though he was hesitant on it. I bet he's glad he did now. What's $40 a month when it covers everything should anything ever happen? And with no deductible. Being the smart one I also have additional life insurance on us both.... heee heee Of course Scott being with Canada Post he is worth much more then I am but still it's good to have that extra coverage just in case.
I had dinner last night with an old friend which was nice. We've been getting together about once a week for dinner or drinks I like spending time with and catching up on what's happened through the week.
And that's been my week thus far. No big plans for the weekend. Scott's been off all week and has taken care of all the house work including laundry which I soo love him for. Means I get to do NOHTING all weekend!! Whoo hoo! think I might go for a drive to visit my nan!
I'll keep you posted!
